Over the years there have been many criminal law cases that had to do with celebrities dying from overdosing on prescription drugs. Usually it is a mixture of these drugs, or a combination of both legal-drugs with illegal-drugs. One can only ask; who is the criminal in these cases?
Is it the doctor that was duped into giving a prescription to a famous actor or musician, or the famous celebrity, tricked them into getting these prescriptions. When multiple doctors are all prescribing to the same person, something is terribly wrong, and fraud is involved; most would agree that it is the celebrities fault, not the doctor.
And yet for some reason people want answers to why their celebrities have died or been killed. Thus, the police, the district attorney, and all the lawyers take a look at all the people involved; they investigate and seek to prosecute them and bring them to justice.
But in many cases all these people themselves are victims of the fraud, some are willing participants some are not.
People that are addicted to either illegal-drugs, or legal prescription-drugs will do just about anything to get a hold of them. They will go to multiple doctors, mix-and-match, borrow from friends, and do anything to keep that feeling going strong at all times. Making criminals out of the assistants of famous movie stars, politicians, rock stars, sports heroes may not be fair.
It is something that we as a society were going to have to look at in the future especially after all the high profile cases in the last few years. The criminal investigation into the death of Michael Jackson could go on for years, and yet, are we really chasing the right person or are we just trying to put blame someone to help us with our loss of such a great entertainer. Please consider all this.
